The success depends on its volunteer workforce.  More than 40 volunteer categories have been identified – with most areas requiring multiple volunteers. There’s something for everyone — so tell your friends, colleagues and co-workers!

Volunteer may sign-up for several areas or several time slots. Your participation will greatly assist NMSDC and will ensure that the conference runs professionally and smoothly.

In one weekend, Taste of Atlanta brings together the incredible energy and diversity of the city’s food scene. From the hot new restaurants to down home favorites, from ethnic eateries to small gems that are off the beaten path – if it’s great food, you’ll find it at Taste of Atlanta!

Now in it’s tenth year, the  annual Taste of Atlanta returns to Tech Square in Midtown at Spring and 5th Street with over 80 confirmed restaurants and some of the best Chefs on Saturday, October 22nd  and Sunday, October 23rd.  Volunteers are the key to making this event a success. We are seeking qualified and enthusiastic volunteers to serve as Ambassadors for Taste of Atlanta 2011.

Ambassador opportunities include: Restaurant Runners, Ticketing, and Floaters to name a few. Ambassadors are needed on Saturday, October 22nd and Sunday, October 23rd at various times (4 hour shifts).

Each Ambassador should be able to commit to a four hour shift and attend an Ambassador Information Meeting (Date TBA). Taste of Atlanta is an excellent opportunity to meet people from Atlanta as well as from around the world!

Ambassador Rewards:

All Ambassadors will receive the following after completing a minimum of one four hour shift:

·      2 General Admission Wristbands for you and a friend to enjoy Taste of Atlanta (does not include Taste Coupons).  Taste Coupons can be purchased for in increments of 5 for $5.

·      Taste of Atlanta Ambassador Apron

·      Taste of Atlanta Ambassador Credentials

·      Thank you letter

Ambassador Shifts & Assignments

Ambassador duties will be assigned once you check in for your shift.  You will be assigned based on the duty and area that needs Ambassadors at that time. You will not receive an assignment before Taste of Atlanta, just a confirmation for the shift time you selected.

Taste of Atlanta is an outdoor food festival – please be aware that there will be lots of standing and in some cases walking around the festival for most of the assignments.

The Ambassador Assignments will include:

·      Restaurant Runners

·      Floaters

·      Ticketing

·      Chef’s Assistants (Culinary Students Only)

·      Information Booth, Check In and Chef’s Hospitality

During your shift, Ambassadors may be asked to change assignments and/or locations.  We ask that you remain flexible and patient!

2010 MBEIC Conference

EventEssentials seeks energized individuals to volunteer at the 2010 MBEIC Conference on August 19^th at Stone Mountain Park and on August 20^th at GE Energy Headquarters.

MBEIC is the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee of the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC). The MBEIC Regional Conference and Riverboat Cruise is the largest event hosted by the Georgia MBEIC. The event kicks off with the Riverboat Networking Cruise and culminates with a daylong line-up of industry-specific programming.

Volunteers will be assisting with a variety of duties that are all vital parts to the success of this conference. Shifts are available on Thursday, August 19^th from 3pm – 10pm and on Friday, August 20^th from 8am – 3pm. Volunteers will receive complimentary parking, as well as meals during the hours being worked. Thank you letters will be provided to all volunteers.

2010 Spirit of Alliance Awards Dinner

EventsEssential seeks energized individuals to volunteer at the 2010 Spirit of Alliance Awards Dinner (SOA) on June 18, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta.

Spirit of Alliance Awards is a moment in time when the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC) honors individuals, businesses and government entities for their contributions to supplier diversity and minority business development in Georgia. This black tie event promises to be an exciting evening filled with amazing energy and dynamic entertainment!

Volunteers will be assisting with a variety of duties that are all vital parts to the success of this awards ceremony and dinner as well as post reception casino. Shifts are available throughout the day of June 18th to work around most schedules.

Business Opportunity Expo Conference (BOE)

EventEssentials is looking for energized individuals to volunteer at the 2010 Business Opportunity Expo Conference (BOE) on April 14th at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

The annual conference is hosted by the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC), to promote and support the growth of minority business development. The 2010 conference will be a celebration of 35 years of success for both GMSDC as well as all the minority businesses that have driven economic growth.

Volunteers will be assisting with a variety of duties that are all vital parts to the success of this conference. Shifts are available throughout the day on April 14th to work around most schedules.

Taste of Atlanta was great!  New location – Tech Square was awesome, 80+ restaurants had amazing tastes and I can’t say enough about the 300+ Ambassadors that came ready to work!  This year our Ambassadors were fun, friendly and dedicated – I can’t ask for anything more in a volunteer. 

Now comes the grueling part – cross referencing our sign in lists to delete our no shows and making sure everyone that participated receives a thank you letter.  Ambassadors, your letters will be emailed on or by November 9, 2009.

Special thanks to my wonderful staff and student intern, Bria Price, a Dekalb School of The Arts Student, who shadowed me on Sunday to document the day for her media project.  Bria took over 200 photos in a few hours.  Here are some of her best.
